Each year we plan and host fundraising events large and small to raise money for our service projects, participate in community events to create understanding and to build relationships with the people and businesses we serve, and coordinate service projects for members and guests. We work with a variety of local and international charities, so be on the lookout for our upcoming events and service opportunities!
Here’s how our Rotary club makes a difference:
- Dignity Bags: We distribute dignity bags to school-aged girls containing emergency period products. These bags ensure that girls can attend school with confidence and without interruption.
- Fighting Period Poverty: We work with community leaders, educational providers and health professionals to provide long-term solutions to girls who cannot afford access to period products. We are currently working on a Rotary Global Grant to support this cause.
- Literacy Support: We support two Free Little Libraries in Jacksonville, NC, and one in Miami, FL. These libraries offer access to books and educational resources, fostering a love of reading and providing valuable learning materials.
- Leadership Programs: We sponsor students for leadership programs through Rotary, such as Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to become future leaders in their communities.
- Polio Eradication: Our efforts also contribute to the global fight against polio, working towards a world where this disease is no longer a threat to children.
